While the story is beautiful regardless of what culture you grew up in, your site helped me understand some of the specific Japanese cultural elements that I would otherwise have missed. I've only read the manga, and the most memorable scene to me is when Kyoko overhears Yusaku at Soichiro's grave, while the cherry blossoms fall around her.

I'm quite suprised that there is a man who understands the story, background and something about Japanese in overseas.
I like the episode which Godai breaks his leg and enter the hospital the best. This episode is very romantic scene between Godai and Kyoko.
I regret that I'd sold all of comics !!

I enjoyed reading all of your analysis regarding Kyoko... it clarified a lot of things within Maison Ikkoku that I didn't notice before. I just finished the manga, and I was curious about some things (such as the "piyo piyo" on Kyoko's apron).
I look forward to finishing the TV series and movie, and I'll keep what I learned from here in mind as I watch. Thank you for having this site!
P.S. Also, thanks for the media section. I was finally able to find "Suki sa" by Anzen Chitai on there... been looking for it for a while.

ramse (email ) qui était amoureux de Kyoko a laissé ce message le mardi 13 septembre 2005 à 06h23 :Bravo et encore bravo, je pourrai le dire mille fois, comme vous je suis un fan et je me télécharge tous les épisodes, les 96 ainsi que le film, plus des épisodes inédits en japonais réalisé récemment d'après la texture du dessin ( comme Island robinson) et même un film cinématographique, j'attends de voir!!! En tout cas vous avez une analyse fine et trés précise de Kyoko qui évolue dans son milieu japonais, avec les coutumes etla vision d'une jeunesse japonaise différentes de celle européenne. De plus vous m'avez fait le plus beau cadeau en mettant le merveilleux dessin de la couverture numéro 10 du manga (celui de Kyoko en habit blanc de marié) C'est tout simplement magnifique

Rumiko Takahashi a su nous faire rêver avec ses mangas, beucoup, beucoup d'armour dans la plus de ses mangas: Akané et Ranma(Ranma 1/2), Yusaku et Kyoko(maison ikkoku), Kagomé et Inu-yasha(Inu-yasha)... J'ai beaucoup aimer ce site il est complet et je le conseillerais a beaucoup d'amis, je vous laisse... C'EST UN TRES BON SITE!!!!!!!!!! VISITEZ-LE!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
